In Asheville, NC, the end of the school day marks the beginning of an exciting journey at Kids Garden. Designed to cater to various developmental stages, these classes offer a flexible approach where everyone is welcome. Although the activities are primarily tailored for children aged 4 and older, younger children, like toddlers as young as 2 years, are also encouraged to participate and enjoy themselves. Depending on attendance, we sometimes organize sessions by age groups to ensure that each child receives the most beneficial experience possible. Our Art Lab Exploration class is great for kids that love art and are excited to explore different mediums and learn new techniques. We’ll be painting, drawing, sculpting, collaging, experimenting, and more! Each class will be a combination of direct instruction, and individual artistic expression. This combined approach of free artistic time with access to materials, and time spent on more technical instruction, will allow children to foster their love of creative expression and expand their creative technical skillset. Each class includes kids yoga, reading books and free art studio time. Each session will build on the lessons learned the week before, encouraging children to attend each week to further their artistic knowledge and creative skillset. Occasionally, projects will span multiple weeks, encouraging children to revisit previous works with a new creative lens.

Our Paint & Create Studio blends master-full art techniques with your child’s own unique, creative expression. We will cover a combination of group and individual project time, to expand and explore our creative talents. To learn more about the many painting materials and paint mediums, we’ll explore a variety of brushes, and brush stroke styles, all while working with various paint mediums like: watercolors, chalk, oil pastels, tempera, acrylics and more. We’ll learn about ancient art history, and modern-day art movements, so we can create and embrace our own unique styles and talents. Kids Play Garden Preschool
Kids Garden's preschool is centered around children ages 2-5 years old, where we seamlessly blend Montessori and Reggio methods to cultivate holistic growth. Through play-based learning, children develop positive socialization, fine motor skills, and effective communication techniques. Our curriculum goes beyond basics, introducing math concepts, reading comprehension, and even yoga for physical and emotional well-being. FAQs
Yes! Kids Garden has regular after school package options and your child can always drop in! Art Lab & Studio classes are offered from 3:30-5:30, however your child can drop in at any time. For those that join after school regularly our goal is to enhance each session with projects, participation and learning.
Unlike many traditional schools, Kids Garden is a drop-in facility! This means there are no asks, supplies, or requirements from parents. We encourage parents to enjoy some “me” time during Art Lab & Studio Programming class hours.
You can do either! Discounted monthly packages or prepaid hour packages are designed for children who attend our centers regularly. Our daily and weekly schedules are consistent so children can also drop in as needed.
Our art class curriculum is geared for children ages 4 and up. If your child is under the age of 4, they can still drop in! We always have differentiated learning opportunities for children of any age during our Art Lab & Studio Programs.
Absolutely. In our registration form, we ask several questions that will help us get to know your child and accommodate his or her learning style and social needs. We ask that all participants agree to our community agreements and classroom safety. Should a child consistently disrupt the flow and learning of our Art Lab & Studio programs, they will be removed.
As always, we offer creative learning at all hours for all children. If your child is in the center during our afternoon enrichment classes, they will continue to take part in enrichment activities that are in line with the scheduled art class for the day. We differentiate the learning and offer a variety of activities to accommodate all learners. If they are not signed up for the class they, will still take part in art education.
