Just because the kids get the summers off doesn’t mean their parents do! With most families, both parents work full time jobs leaving them worried about how to entertain their children during the summer. Thankfully,  Kids Play Garden Mount Pleasant and Kids Play Garden South Windermere is here to help with Summer Adventure Camps 2016 from June 6 – August 12, 2016. Each week, the camps will have a special theme from gardening, camping, Star Wars, Lego Mania and more. Parents are encouraged to reserve their child’s spot early as these camps do fill up quickly. Pre-purchase is required.

Playgardensummer“As a working parent, I understand it’s can be difficult to find numerous ways to entertain  children during the summer. With our variety of camps, the kids aren’t just having fun, they’re learning through play. ” said Maren Anderson, founder of Kids Play Garden.

ADVENTURE CAMP 2016 includes:

June 6th – 10th: CREATIVE CRAFT CAMP

We’ll fill your child’s days with artistic activities, creative crafting and inspiration. This camp includes painting, mosaics, handmade jewelry, collages and sculpting. Each day children will have a directed project as well as an open art lab to let the creativity flow.

June 13th – 17th: TREE HUGGER

“The Giving Tree” is not only a great book—it’s a great lesson for children, too. This week we will appreciate our beautiful Lowcountry and all that nature has to offer. Children will create leaf prints, make recycled crafts, craft unique art from nature, and understand simple and fun ways to go green in order to be protectors of our planet Earth!

June 20th – 24th: GREEN THUMB FARMERS

Let your gardens grow with the help of your own little farmers! Campers will learn about planting from seeds, different types of gardens and how to compost. Your child will even bring home a plant for the garden. Future farmers, gardeners, and nature explorers will discuss and learn about plant growth, permaculture, composting, seed germination, cultivating produce, and experience the true meaning of farm to table.

June 27th – July 1st: Animal Trackers

Amazing Animals fill our wonderful planet. This week campers will explore different habitats, go on scavenger hunts, make and learn about different animal tracks, and study a variety of animals both close to the Lowcountry and in far off lands. Put on your Zoologist hat and be ready to get wild with wildlife!

July 5th – 8th: USA HURRAY!! (closed 7/4/16)

Join us to celebrate our independence and the beauty of our country. Campers will make patriotic crafts, learn songs, create a parade and be red, white, and blue through and through!

This week we will explore different art mediums each day from drawing, painting, collages, and sculpting.  Famous artist will bring inspiration and motivation to the different works of art that are created by each unique camper. Roll up your sleeves and come ready to explore your inner artist as we collectively create and develop individual masterpieces.

July 18th – 22nd: HAPPY CAMPERS Pack it IN- Pack it OUT. Campers will enjoy a full camp ground experience while having fun in tents, painting rocks, constructing fires (no real flames J), scavenger hunts, making trail mix, and learning the basics for being a great camper. We’ll be bringing the outdoors in for camp this week!

July 25th – July 29th: May the force be with you

Whether your child is an Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Princess Leia or Boba Fett lover, they will love getting into character and being part of another galaxy. This kid-friendly Star Wars Camp will inspire children through games, trivia, LEGOS, arts and crafts, friendship building and so much more. Campers will enjoy the ever-expanding universe of Star Wars beyond the movies!

August 1st – 5th: LEGO MANIA

Playing with Legos provides a wide variety of educational benefits, such as fine motor skills, problem solving, creativity, and more! Children’s creativity will be inspired as they create cool lego structures, play lego games, and see who can build the tallest tower. Everything is awesome! Everything is cool when you’re part of a team!

August 8th – 12th: MAD SCIENTIST

Science is fun and functional! This camp will show children the wonders of science and exploration while they learn through our interactive and hands-on science activities. Campers will participate in experiments and enhance their creativity by learning how to make hypotheses, draw conclusions and problem solve.

Children can stay beyond the normal four-hour limit when camps are in session. And when the camp day ends, your child can stay at Play Garden until you’re ready for pick up, with extended nights and weekends available throughout the summer at normal hourly rates. We’re here for you.
